What this Facebook video downloader accepts

People who want to download Facebook videos usually already have a link. Paste a public Facebook video you are allowed to keep. The host has to be Facebook. The object has to be media. A Page home, a profile, or a Messenger card is not a file. Searches for a Facebook Reels downloader stay on this page — we do not ship a second URL for that modifier.

If a logged-out browser cannot play the post, Downaro cannot save it. Many Facebook Reels are limited to signed-in viewers. That is Facebook’s rule, not a missing button here.

Get the media URL

Open the post in a browser and copy the address bar, or paste a public /share/, /reel/, /videos/, /watch/, /photo.php, or fb.watch link. Downaro follows those wrappers to the public file when Facebook advertised one. Extra query parameters are fine. You do not have to strip the URL by hand.

Reels and Watch

Public Watch videos and some Reels advertise a file to logged-out visitors. Many Reels do not. Live videos that have not ended often have no stable file. Friends-only posts, group-only videos, and marketplace clips are out of scope.

Photos

Public photo posts list the original image Facebook advertised — as a JPEG, not a fake MP4. If the same post also has a public video, that file is listed separately.

Login walls and groups

  • Open the same link in a private window. If Facebook asks you to log in, stop. We will refuse it too.
  • Group videos that only members can play are not public, even if someone handed you a share link.
  • A share card can point at a post that was later set to friends-only.

Safari puts the file in Files. The Photos guide finishes the move to the camera roll.
