Terms of use

These terms are the agreement for using downaro.com. If you cannot live with them, close the tab. Using the paste field, a platform page, the contact form, or the API is acceptance. If we change this page later, the date above will move. Using the site after that date is acceptance of the new text.
Who this is for
Downaro is a small, independent site. It is meant for people who already have a right to keep a public clip: a creator backing up their own post, a team saving an asset they cleared, or anyone storing a public file they were told they could keep offline.
It is not a spare hard drive for the open internet. If you arrived here because a friend sent a “free downloader” link and you want a song that is not yours, these terms are the part most sites hide in tiny type. We put it in normal sentences on purpose.
If you are a rights holder and you want a specific path reviewed, use the copyright page. That process is separate from “I clicked Download.”
What the service is
You paste a public URL. Our server checks that the host is one we allow, then looks for media that page already advertises to a logged-out visitor. When a file is there, we show qualities or images. When the platform only shows a login wall, a stub, or a preview, we say so.
The homepage tool and the platform pages — Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest, Reddit, and YouTube — all do that same job. Availability depends on the third-party platform, not on a promise from us.
We do not guarantee that any link will produce a file. A URL that worked on Tuesday can fail on Wednesday because the post vanished, the region changed, or the host stopped advertising the file to logged-out requests.
What it is not
Downaro is not a video site. There is no public library, no browse page of other people’s Reels, and no member folder where yesterday’s files sit waiting.
It is not an official product of Instagram, TikTok, Meta, YouTube, X, Pinterest, or Reddit. It is not a way around a private account, a paywall, or a DRM lock. It is not a place to park malware, scan networks, or flood an address until something breaks.
A green Download button means “this public file was advertised.” It does not mean “the owner said you can keep it.” Those are different sentences.
Permission
You may only use Downaro for media you own or already have authorization to download and keep. You are responsible for copyright, privacy, and the terms of the platform you copied the link from.
Resolving a URL is not a licence. If the tool lists an MP4 or a JPEG, that is a technical result. It is not Downaro certifying that you may republish the clip, put it in an ad, or send it to a client. If you do not have permission, do not paste the link.
This includes photos. A public TikTok photo post, a Facebook share, an X media tweet, or a Pinterest pin is still someone else’s work if it is not yours. Saving every slide in an album does not make you the owner. A YouTube Short is still a YouTube video.
What you must not do
Do not use the site to reach things a logged-out visitor is not supposed to have.
- Private accounts, login-only posts, paywalled libraries, or DRM-protected streams.
- Scanning, flooding, or probing our API or anyone else’s network — including local addresses and cloud metadata addresses.
- Calling Downaro an official Instagram, TikTok, Meta, YouTube, X, Pinterest, or Reddit product, or wrapping our pages so they look like one.
- Sending malware, scraping the site to clone it, or using the contact form to abuse the operator.
- Trying to walk around a rate limit, a blocked path, or a notice we already acted on.
If the same refused URL keeps arriving, we can keep refusing it. If a pattern looks like abuse, we can slow it down or shut it off. That is a safety measure, not a public list of names. We do not have member accounts to “ban” in the usual sense. We work with the URL, the host, and the traces we still have.
Accounts and passwords
There is no Downaro login. We will never ask for an Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest, Reddit, or YouTube password, a session cookie, or a two-factor code. If a page that looks like ours asks for those, it is not us.
The cookie we set ourselves is a session cookie that protects the contact form. Theme preference, if you toggle it, lives in your browser. Google AdSense may use its own cookies; that sits on the privacy page.
Files on your device
When you choose a quality, the file goes to your browser’s download flow. On a phone that often means the Files app, not Photos. That is Safari’s habit, not a hidden extra product. The iPhone guide explains the last step if the camera roll is empty.
Once a file is on your disk, it is on your disk. We cannot reach into your phone and delete it later. We also cannot promise the file will play in every editor, or that a Reddit clip will arrive with sound already mixed — Reddit often stores picture and audio as two files. That is their layout, described on the Reddit sound guide.
You decide what you do with a file you saved. If that use breaks someone else’s rights, that is your problem to fix, not a defect in the paste field.
Names and logos
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Meta, X, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, YouTube, and Google are trademarks of their owners. The marks on our platform cards exist so you can tell one tool from another. Mention on this site is for identification only. It is not a partnership, a sponsorship, or a claim that those companies reviewed our code.
The rounded “D” and the word Downaro are our brand. Do not scrape the site and ship it under another name as an “official saver.”
Availability and limits
The site can be slow, full, or down. Platforms can change a page overnight. We may refuse a host, a URL shape, or a region without writing you a personal letter first. Rate limits exist so one person cannot occupy the resolver for everyone else.
We may disable a specific path after a copyright notice, or because it is being used to hammer the tool. That decision is about our site. It is not a court ruling on who owns the clip.
No warranty
The site is provided as is. We do not promise uptime, completeness, or that a listed file is the “best” copy the platform has. We are not liable for files you choose to save, for platform outages, for a download that lands in the wrong folder, or for how you use a file after it leaves the browser.
If a feature disappears, or a platform stops advertising public files, that is part of running a helper in front of other people’s sites. We will not invent a fake button to paper over the gap.
To the extent a law in your country does not allow a full disclaimer, these terms limit what they can limit and leave the rest. We are not your lawyer. If you need advice about a specific clip, get it from someone who is.
Copyright and privacy
How we handle a rights notice is on the copyright page. How we handle URLs, logs, and mail is on the privacy page. Those pages are part of how the product works. They do not replace these terms; they sit next to them.

Changes
We may update these terms when the product changes, when a platform forces our hand, or when a sentence here was too thin. The date at the top is the tell. We will not email every visitor. There is no account list to email.
If you keep using Downaro after that date, you are using it under the new text. If you do not want that, stop pasting links.
